Cancellieri Demonstrates Glimpses of Genius in Positive Aspect for Struggling Lazio

The atmosphere at Lazio's home ground was far from happy during the weekend fixture. Lazio were trailing against Torino, an opponent that had allowed 10 goals while scoring only two in their last five league matches. Supporters from the Curva Nord were wrapping up their latest protest in a continuous dispute with club owner Claudio Lotito.

This Year's Efforts Falling Apart?

Was the team's progress unraveling, or had there never been a binding element holding it together in the first place? They reappointed Maurizio Sarri to lead the team this summer, but then he admitted that the management had failed to disclose a registration embargo they were set to be hit with for financial irregularities. Rumours that he might quit were not true, but he stated that Lotito had "deceived" him.

The Roman club appeared equally disorganized in their performances as behind the scenes, overcoming Verona 4-0 and Genoa 3-0 but falling short in their other initial five matches, featuring the derby della Capitale. At any given moment, observers have struggled to tell if they're getting better or collapsing.

Cancellieri's Unforeseen Comeback

One individual remained positive through it. Matteo Cancellieri was not even supposed to feature for Lazio this year. He was on last season with Parma on loan and, during the summer break, his parent club were pushing for him to remain there for another season. The transfer ban forced a rethink. They were unable to weaken their team without replacements.

Cancellieri arrived originally when Sarri was last in charge, at that time a 20-year-old graduate of Verona's academy. He accumulated 20 league appearances for Lazio in that campaign, all but one of those coming off the bench. The ex- sporting director, Igli Tare, who departed following that term, later stated Sarri of "informing all Cancellieri was destined for stardom then never playing him."

Uncovering His True Position

Maybe Sarri was continuing to attempt to work out the exact type of his skill set. Originally described as an attacking winger upon signing, Cancellieri instead found himself much of that season as a struggling deputy to Ciro Immobile as center forward. Across 63 games during spells with Empoli and Parma in the past two years, he netted seven goals. Shoehorn
